Margot Murray has worked and volunteered on a range of conservation projects in Melbourne, Dubai and Sydney as well as with local antique dealers to gain the necessary experience in ceramics conservation.

Receiving a Cultural Trust grant now allows Margot to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Conservation of Ceramics and Related Objects, at West Dean College, Chichester, England. The College offers specialist practical training in the conservation and restoration of ceramic and glass objects at a level not available in Australia. The course also includes a work placement providing an opportunity to work at the British Museum or the V&A Museum.

This hands-on, practical experience and exposure to exceptional institutions will be invaluable to Margot who is seeking to establish herself in the profession. In addition, attending West Dean College will also provide Margot with networking opportunities which will assist her in securing work in the competitive conservation industry.
