Professor Johnston joined The Ian Potter Cultural Trust in September 2021 and made extraordinary contributions during her short time as a Trustee. While her expertise was in marine ecology, she was engaged with all our programs and was a strong advocate for helping accomplished individuals gain professional development opportunities to reach their potential.
Within the Trust, Emma was valued for her thoughtful and strategic insights on how to best support next-generation talent. She also shared her time freely with staff and fellow Trustees, enriching every conversation with her energy, wisdom and clarity of thought. Her impact will continue to shape our governance, and her influence will be felt in our work for many years to come.
Our thoughts are with Emma's husband, Sam; her children, Amelia and Antonin; and all of her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
