In our most recent round of Emerging Artist Grants, 29 early-career artists were awarded $302,022 in grants.
In February, cellist Mee Na Lojewski and violist Katie Yap commenced as the inaugural Ian Potter Emerging Performers Fellows. We caught up with Lojewski and Yap to learn how their Fellowships will support them in developing independent performance practices.
In 2018, with the support of a Cultural Trust grant, Joshua Oates undertook private lessons with internationally renowned oboists. Through this experience, he tapped into various teaching styles that not only improved his performance but allowed him to have his own creative insights.
Last year soprano and 2017 grantee Georgia Wilkinson undertook a series of vocal tuition and mentoring opportunities in both London and New York with the support of The Cultural Trust.
Trading in his black t-shirts for black tie, operatic tenor Shanul Sharma is a perfect example of an older yet early career artist to receive a Cultural Trust grant.
